What is A–Z termination?

A–Z termination is a wholesale voice service that lets you send calls to any destination in the world over a single interconnect, rather than buying routes country by country.

A–Z termination explained

Instead of negotiating separate deals for each country, the buyer gets one rate deck covering every dialling prefix from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe. The provider then picks the downstream carrier for each call. Rates vary per prefix, and quality varies too, so A–Z decks usually list separate lines for fixed, mobile and premium ranges within each country.

A–Z is the usual starting point for resellers, calling-card platforms and businesses with unpredictable destinations. Larger buyers often combine an A–Z route with dedicated "premium" or CLI routes for their highest-volume countries, using least cost routing to choose between them.

Example

A reseller with customers calling 60 different countries connects one SIP trunk for A–Z traffic, then adds a separate CLI route to the UK because that is where most of their minutes go.
