SIP Trunk Norway — +47 Termination & DID Numbers
Norway uses a closed eight-digit plan with no area codes or trunk prefix, so every number looks the same and validation is trivial. Mobiles start with 4 or 9, and Norway is in the EEA rather than the EU, which matters for some data processing agreements.
Overview
Routing calls to Norway
Whether you are calling a desk phone in Oslo or a mobile in Trondheim, Stavanger and Tromsø, the call is routed by the longest matching +47 prefix and sent to the best-performing carrier for that range. When a carrier fails, the next one takes over, and the CDR shows exactly which leg carried the call.
Nkom sets the Norway numbering plan, and our prefix tables follow it closely. Supported number types: geographic, national, mobile and toll-free. There is no trunk prefix to strip: send 47 followed by the national number as written.
Outbound termination to Norway starts as soon as your balance is topped up. Local DIDs are different: Nkom rules usually require address and identity documents, which our team collects and checks before activation.
