SIP Trunk Germany — +49 Termination & DID Numbers
German geographic numbers are tied to the local exchange area (Ortsnetz), and BNetzA rules mean you generally need a residential or business address there before a number is assigned. Area codes range from two to five digits, so validate number length per area rather than with one fixed rule.
Overview
Routing calls to Germany
Calling windows matter: Germany runs on Berlin time, and we route +49 calls for Berlin, Hamburg and Munich, Frankfurt, Cologne and Stuttgart across several carriers so a peak-hour congestion event on one network does not take your campaign down.
BNetzA sets the Germany numbering plan, and our prefix tables follow it closely. Supported number types: geographic, national, mobile and toll-free. Inside the country, numbers are dialled with a 0 trunk prefix. Strip it before you send the call, and send 49 followed by the national number.
Outbound termination to Germany starts as soon as your balance is topped up. Local DIDs are different: BNetzA rules usually require address and identity documents, which our team collects and checks before activation.

FAQ
Germany SIP trunk questions
Why do German DIDs need an address?
BNetzA allocates geographic numbers to users with a presence in that local network area. Expect to provide an address in the area plus ID or company registration.
Can I hide the caller ID on sales calls?
No. German law prohibits suppressing the caller ID on advertising calls. Present a valid number you hold.
How long are German numbers?
Lengths vary. Area codes are 2 to 5 digits and subscriber numbers vary too. Validate against the area code rather than a fixed digit count.
How do I dial a Berlin number from the trunk?
Send 49 30 followed by the subscriber number, without the leading 0.
